| There are several choices for fun filled activities throughout the Niagara Region. Niagara Falls is a haven of family fun and has activities for everyone to enjoy. There are golf courses, water parks, historic tours, theme parks, festivals, and much more.
Niagara-on-the-lake provides a scenic backdrop for its many activities. Enjoy a scenic bicycle tour, a leisurely walk or a quiet picnic along the waterfront trails and parks that unravel through this wine rich region. Wineries in the area also offer wine tours.
The Niagara Region is a haven for golf enthusiasts! Niagara on the lake boasts being the location of North America’s oldest golf course located in the Olde Towne right on the banks of Lake Ontario. Niagara on the Lake is also home to the Shaw Festival, Court House and Royal George Theatres.
Featured are some of the most exciting, heart racing thrills and activities. Jet boat tours of world class rapids at 65 mph. Venture within a mile of the tumbling waters of Niagara Falls.
The Welland Canal serves as a passageway between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, built to bypass Niagara Falls. The Canal area is full of activity with people fishing, using the trails, picnicking, boating and ship watching.
St. Catharines is a quiet city nestled in the heart of Niagara, offering year round experiences with its rich history, local cuisine and wineries, exciting festivals and bustling waterways. Old Port Dalhousie Harbour is a charming village found within St. Catharines, perched on the beaches of Lake Ontario. Henley Island is home to the Henley Regatta and the annual Dragon Boat races.
St. Catharines is the proud host of a multitude of festivals throughout the year. Many of the city’s festivals and activities take place in Montebello Park, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, who achieved wide acclaim as the planner of New York City’s Central Park. The festivals attract hundreds of thousands of visitors and locals every year and include the Grape and Wine Festival, the Ice Wine Festival, Canada Day family street party, Folk Arts Festival, Port Dalhousie Canada day celebrations (complete with fireworks!), weekly free outdoor concerts, a Classic Car Show, an independent music festival, and a Downtown Pub Crawl.
